Inner Child: A to Z Blogging Challenge

Those of you who know me and the work I’m doing had to know that the Inner Child was going to be my ‘I’ topic. Why not? I believe it’s such an important topic. The “Inner Child” has really gotten a bad rap. Does it really come as any surprise, though? Many of us are carting around ICs that have been wounded in one way or another. Either by others during our childhood or from us shutting it away once crossing the threshold into adulthood. Take for instance the Disney movie Christropher Robin. I was amazed what a perfect example that was to illustrate my point. The Pooh Crew –…

True Passion: Feeding, Rather Than Depleting

I have integrated a great deal of “wisdom”, I believe, the past few days with regard to energy. OH! For certain, I have known a great deal about it for many, many years now. But, we can know things, but really not KNOW things or even how it applies to “real life”, so to speak. Last week, I met with one of my beloved spiritual sisters last, Mona of Beautiful Mind. During our time together we spoke about balancing the four areas of our lives as humans: mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual, and what activities I currently engage in each of those areas that “feed” me, feed my own energy as…

Rise and Shine! Time to Get to Work

Well, hello there! How are things in your neck of the woods? I don’t know about you, but I’ve been experiencing things – energies – in a very intense way as of late. Just the past week or two, really. So much so that it doesn’t take much to drain me. From speaking to and reading the updates of others, many of US are experiencing the same sort of thing. (At least I’m in good company.) Apparently, it has to do with the energies that are coming in which we’re having to acclimate to. The times around the new and full moon will tend to be more intense and have…

The Tao Te Ching: Weak Overcomes Strong

The Weak overcomes the strong; the soft surpasses the hard. In all the world, there is no one who does not know this, but no one can master the practice. ~ A New Way of Thinking, A New Way of Being: Experiencing the Tao Te Ching by Dr. Wayne W. Dyer While the “original” text as translated by Gia-Fu Feng and Jane English in Lao Tsu – Tao Te Ching was thus: Under heaven nothing is more soft and yielding than water. Yet for attacking the solid and strong, nothing is better; It has no equal. The weak can overcome the strong; The supple can overcome the stiff. Under heaven everyone knows…

    Cultivating Dao: Progress!

So, I mentioned in my previous post that I’m currently working toward making a large pledge in my process of cultivating Dao. Well, I’m happy to say that I’m making progress! (Yay, me! lol) Thus far, I have memorized both primary and secondary parts of one ritual. (Only four more to go!) Thank goodness for index cards! lol I’ve returned to a technique that many of us relied on as kids. Flashcards! The visual really seems to help me. There are even times when I am practicing that I see the words in my mind. Hey! Use what works, right? I’ve also made progress on my “dilemma” with regard to the “onion…

    The Importance of Self-Care

Hello, again! This was the thought that went through my mind when I woke up this morning… lol We’re rolling with the punches, though, right? We’ve got this! Yesterday I mentioned re-accessing my priorities. When I spoke to Dh he said, “you’re still going to ‘meditation’, right?” See, twice a week I go to my beautiful soul sister’s studio. From the goodness of her heart, she conducts guided meditations which encourage us to breathe deeply. For me, this is especially beneficial given that I tend to be a shallow breather (unless I consciously focus on it, of course). This has actually led to some health problems for me. Who would…

Sometimes “Good Enough” IS Enough: A Musing From the Path

A Happy Monday morning to you, my friend. Did the weekend treat you well? I do hope so. What is on the agenda for today? For me, I’m focusing on self-care, on regaining my equilibrium, physically as well as spiritual. I am grateful that I am not as “out of whack” as I have been in the past. In the past, vertigo has hit me so hard that it would lay me up in bed for days. The belief was that it was an “inner ear infection” brought on by bad drainage of allergies. Over the years, though, I’ve come to realize that while that may be the case, it is…

    Nurturing the Buddha Seed Within

Have you ever had an experience that seemingly turned your entire life upside down? One that seemed to change the way you viewed the world itself? It may seem like an exaggeration, but that was what last weekend was for me. I am still in awe of the enormity of it all. Such revelations! Personally and with regard to my worldview (spiritual and mundane). That’s what’s taking the most amount of time for me to process, and as I understand it from others who have experienced the same 3-day seminar, one will continue to do so for many, many days (if not years) to come. After all, growing a “saint”, a “buddha”…
