True Passion: Feeding, Rather Than Depleting

I have integrated a great deal of “wisdom”, I believe, the past few days with regard to energy. OH! For certain, I have known a great deal about it for many, many years now. But, we can know things, but really not KNOW things or even how it applies to “real life”, so to speak. Last week, I met with one of my beloved spiritual sisters last, Mona of Beautiful Mind. During our time together we spoke about balancing the four areas of our lives as humans: mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual, and what activities I currently engage in each of those areas that “feed” me, feed my own energy as…

The Tao Te Ching: Compassion Wins

“When armies are evenly matched, the one with compassion wins.” ~ A New Way of Thinking, A New Way of Being: Experiencing the Tao Te Ching by Dr. Wayne W. Dyer   So, as we go through our days here on “Battlefield Earth” (because don’t so many people approach their world, their interactions as a battle, as though they are in competition with another?), even if it appears as though we have “lost”, when we approach the situation with compassion (for ourselves and others) we have still won “the battle”. Much Love and Light, ~D

    The Importance of Self-Care

Hello, again! This was the thought that went through my mind when I woke up this morning… lol We’re rolling with the punches, though, right? We’ve got this! Yesterday I mentioned re-accessing my priorities. When I spoke to Dh he said, “you’re still going to ‘meditation’, right?” See, twice a week I go to my beautiful soul sister’s studio. From the goodness of her heart, she conducts guided meditations which encourage us to breathe deeply. For me, this is especially beneficial given that I tend to be a shallow breather (unless I consciously focus on it, of course). This has actually led to some health problems for me. Who would…

Emotions: They Just Are (Day 3 of the Gentle Visibility Blogfest)

Hello there, dear friend! This post is a little late being published. It’s been a really busy day here. I did want to pop in, though. (I haven’t forgotten about you! How could I? Yes! You’re that special to me and in general. *grins*) How has the energy felt for you lately? The past couple of days I’ve noticed I’ve been feeling run down, drained, and more than just a little emotional, and there’s seemingly no real explanation for it. That was until I spoke with others in our spiritual community here today. They’re feeling it as well. (Good to know I’m in such good company, at least.) How about…

The Bumpy Road: Our Spiritual Journey

“The road to becoming more spiritual is a messy one. A bumpy one. One full of roadblocks. But the journey is beautiful and the landscape is breathtaking.” ~ Ashley Strong, Deus Nexus The energy I feel around me is very heavy right now. In some ways, it feels almost stifling. This, I believe, is one of the challenges of being an empath. Feeling the lows as well as the highs. There are many people going through challenging times at the moment. Have you noticed that? Maybe I’m just more aware of it at the moment because it seems I keep running into them. Almost as if Spirit has decided that…

Not Every Day Is A Good One When You’re “Spiritual”

When one is “spiritual”, there is a common misconception that everything is sunshine and rainbows. This idea is illustrated in Sonia Choquette’s new book, Waking Up In Paris, which (surprise!) I started reading this morning. (Isn’t synchronicity a fabulous thing?!) “As a spiritual teacher and intuitive guide for the majority of my life, I have observed that most people are initially attracted to spirituality – whether to meditation, awakening intuition, or connecting to higher awareness – because they feel these practices will provide them with the strength to confront life’s inevitable challenges and disappointments. They often hope that spirituality will serve as a cloak of invulnerability that will protect them against psychic…

    Meeting Change with Less Resistance

I came across this image from Conscious Reminder this morning not long after awakening and has played about in the back of my mind ever since. In my experience, change can often be quite a challenging journey for one to traverse. Take for instance my current journey “toward a more healthy me”. You like how I put a positive spin on that? Originally, I typed “my current journey in weight loss”, but isn’t that exactly what Conscious Reminder is attempting to point out here? A journey “toward a more healthy me” focuses more on ‘building the new’, rather than ‘fighting the old’, wouldn’t you say? There are some who might…
